Format:

1. Preliminary Rounds – Online
Start Date : First week of June 2025
Total Preliminary Sessions : 4 -6 (One every week)
4-6 teams will advance to Pre-final Rounds

2. Pre-final Rounds - Online
Start date : 15 days prior to Final
2 prefinal rounds (4 teams)
Top 2 teams will advance to the finals

3. Final – At APBC, Goa
a) Each team gets 2 burn spotters. Similar structure of Prelims.
b) 15 minutes per burn spotter.
c) Rapid fire round.
d) 5-10 burn spotters in five minutes per team

Structure for Preliminary and Pre final Rounds :

2 PGs per team
2 teams per session
Discussion of total of 4 burn spotters per session.
Both teams will be asked different questions alternately, based on the same Burn Spotter
15 minutes per burn spotter
2–4 expert panellists + 1 moderator
Teams are expected to analyse the image, answer panel questions, and explain possible treatments or diagnoses.
Unanswered questions will be passed to opposite team. Correct answers carry two marks. Answer to Passed questions carry one mark.

Evaluation:

Judges score the teams based on depth and clarity of answers
Final winner selected by panel of international judges

What is a Burn Spotter?

A clinical image or scenario representing:
Acute or complicated burns
Post-operative or post-burn deformities
Specialized burn treatment / technologies / instruments
Rare or complex anatomical cases.

Role of Panellists

Each Panellist will ask relevant questions to each team and assess the answer and score them Approximately 15-20 questions to each team.
Each correct answer carries one point
Each Panellist scores based on the merit of the answer.
Final score is calculated after totalling each Panellist's score and winner selected.
Unanswered questions explained.

Role of Moderator

Moderates each session.
Invite the Panellists to Chair the session
Solve any disputes
Supplements any uncovered information during the discussion
